TMDA/TGS Annual Meeting - August 13-15, 2010

Geriatrics and Long Term Care

The TMDA/TGS 2010 Annual Meeting will be held August 13-15, 2010 in Arlington, TX at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel.  Click here for a preliminary schedule.

NEW THIS YEAR - We are adding a NEW full day of programing on Friday, August 13 . Join us for a Train-the-Trainer program focusing on Diabetes. Saturday, August 14 will offer the newest installment to the AMDA Institute for LTC Practice Improvement: Navigating Geriatric Psychiatry in Long Term Care. Sunday, August 15 will feature a 1/2 day of programing provided by the Academy of Consulting Pharmacists and the Texas Geriatric Society (TGS) in conjunction with The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS).

Reservations:
To make your reservations:1-800-442-7275 - You must identify yourself as a member of TMDA/TGS when making the reservations. The cut-off date is Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 12:00 pm. Individual group reservations must be cancelled 72 hours prior to arrival. Any cancellation within 72 hours will be billed one night's room and tax.

Hotel Parking:
Self parking is complimentary. The valet parking rate is $5.00.

Sheraton Courtesty Shuttles to/from the aiport:

• The Sheraton has a courtesy shuttle to and from Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport. The shuttle is available from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm seven days a week.
• Once at the airport and luggage has been picked up, please call 817-261-8200. The operator will get the needed information; give the guest instructions and an estimated time of pick-up.
• After your stay, to return to DFW Airport, please make advance reservations at our concierge desk. The shuttle departs for the airport once an hour; on the half hour only.
• LOVE FIELD: To and from Love Field, arrangements can be made through Super Shuttle are 1-800-BlueVan (1-800-258-3826)

Friday and Saturday evenings will be open for you and your families to enjoy the area. The Sheraton Arlington location is within walking distance to Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor,Texas Rangers Stadium and also the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Also, the Sheraton offers shuttle service within 3 miles to numerous restaurants, nightclubs, and shopping. The Texas Rangers will be at home playing the Boston Red Sox during that weekend.

TMDA is going paperless and will NOT provide handouts onsite. Handouts can be downloaded prior to the meeting. An email will be sent to you once they are ready to download. Please check back frequently for programing updates.
